A Very Trivial Post

We have terracotta tiles throughout the first floor of our house, except in the hall and the bathroom, where the tiles are ceramic, and in our bedroom,where there's wood flooring.

One - 1 - of the terracotta tiles, right where we walk the most often, has suddenly become dangerously slippery. I almost went down today, with Miracle Boy in my arms. I'm kinda prepared for it outdoors these days, but I thought we were safe indoors...
I wonder if I should attack it with sandpaper, or maybe there's some kind of treatment I can use. In the meantime, I'll have to move the nearest rug to cover the spot - most accidents happen at home, and we don't want any broken bones!

I Have My Very Own Set!

Of what? Well, I've got my very own set of Jehova's Witnesses.

We live at the end of a winding forest road, there's nothing here. But they found me. I like a good discussion, so the first time they were here, I did engage in conversation with them. At length. Since then, they've been back every month. They work hard - finding answers to my questions, bringing me their own versions of Christian books to enlighten me... Nice girls, very polite, very interested in what they're doing. I've told them they'll have a very hard time getting me into the fold - in fact, I think they know by now that I'm a lost cause, but still - they keep coming.

I don't mind. There's no doubt that they believe in what they're doing, but they're still open minded, and I guess that's how this dialogue started in the first place. I do enjoy sparring with them, and I find their tenacity quite endearing...

A Pretty Pair

- Why not?
Everything else is all festive and glittery this time of year - how about a lovely pair of Holiday frames, just for Christmas and the New Year? Come to think of it, one for each holiday would be rather fun.

Myself, I'd go for a Christmassy red pair, to match all the Santas that we've got all around the house, and the lovely, shiny red balls on our Christmas tree.



For New Year's? Oh, a wintry turquoise pair perhaps, or something shiny and silver- colored. Or black, with a few "diamonds" on it, just to create that night sky effect.
Hubby needs a new pair of glasses - I think he'd prefer a sober design that he could use all year 'round, bless his conservative heart, and luckily, Zenni Optical provide those too. In abundance, and at a very, very good price. Maybe I could talk him into choosing some festive ones too - in a non-obtrusive way, of course... As for me, I'm off to see if they've got something fit for Easter wear too. I might have to provide the bunnies myself, but something egg-shell colored, perhaps? Or spring green...

There are loads to choose from, both for formal and fancy holiday wear - a fun accessory for those of us who are lucky enough to need them...
